To mark its 50th anniversary, 103.7 WMGM-FM will relaunch Aug. Twenty-nine as WMGM Rocks : South Jersey’s Home For The Best Rock.

The re-launch was announced Wednesday by officers with Longport Media LLC who took command of the “heritage rock station” formerly called the Shark and four other South Jersey radio stations May thirteen.

“The Shark has been harpooned,” said Dave Coskey, president of Longport Media. “WMGM has outlined rock for this region for at least twenty years, and our heritage call letters are something we are extremely proud of. The evolution of 103.7 will allow us to further position WMGM as the premier station for rock ‘n’ roll in South Jersey and all our coverage areas.”
