Fixing The Unmountable Boot Volume Blue Screen Freeze

Perhaps one of the most irritating problems that can occur on a Windows OS is the unmountable boot volume blue screen error message. A computer might experience this problem after a piece of software has been updated or installed. If this is the case it’s highly likely that there is a fault with the registry key or device driver.
If you’ve updated a device driver recently, it’s a good idea to roll back the driver to confirm if this is indeed the problem. A faulty device driver may just be all it is, if you’re lucky that is. Hasn’t stopped the blue screen error codes from coming up? Search for a solution online by typing in the error message.
Most people find it understand what the cryptic looking error messages mean, although they can help with finding an answer. And in most instances, even for a trained computer technician, the answer to the problem will still not be clear. A registry bloat is perhaps the commonest source for a host of PC issues, such as Stop Error Codes, sluggishness, freezing and DLL error messages.
Most old and even fairly new computer registries look a total mess. You should think of your PC’s registry as the gatekeeper. Your registry holds critical information about your system setup as well as configuration settings for software and hardware installed on you computer. The registry keeps a record of what files you’ve created, in addition to any important changes you’ve made to your computer, such as installation of hardware and applications.
Messy program reinstallations and removals can leave unused or duplicate registries, even if you use the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ function in control panel. When the registry folder becomes bloated with unneeded registries, it affects the functioning of your computer. Even the difference between a brand new computer and one that’s just had a few months use is noticeable in performance for some users.
Additionally, there are other threats that can cause serious damage to the registry such as viruses, adware and spyware. There is no such thing as complete protection, but having good antivirus and anti-spyware installed and running will help to protect your PC. Ensure your running the latest update and that your antivirus application is working properly. Although your Windows OS should have firewall set ‘on’ as a default setting, you should also check to make sure it is.
Quite commonly a problem in the registry is the source for blue screen error messages. Furthermore your computer may be rendered unstable causing intermittent freezing and crashes. When a blue screen crash occurs any unsaved data may be damaged or lost. In order to increase your computer’s performance and speed, the registry needs to be cleaned. But do bear in mind that there is no ‘undo’ option in the registry editor. Therefore you must always make a back up of the registry before you edit it.
Making the wrong changes to the registry can cause irreversible damage to the OS. Make backups of all your files if your intent on having a go. But I wouldn’t recommend doing anything to your computer if you don’t feel comfortable or are unsure. It would be better to find a person who knows what they’re doing or a computer specialist. On the other hand, a registry cleaner might also be able to do the job for you for much less.
