Dont Give Up On Your Pc Before You Read This

Having purchased my computer last year, with great specs including extremely fast quad core processor, Ram to feed its speed and a hard drive that holds a larger amount than I can hurl at it I have been looking at things that might better the PC I already have.
1st If your processor is still competing with the market and is able to cope with working with the software you are using you don’t have to consider starting all over again. If it isn’t you may want to think about a new board and processor. Usually however once you start down this road it is possibly worth just buying a new desktop as the individual parts often come in at more than a new PC.
Second if we take it that your processor is quick enough, pack in the Ram it gives your processor the space to work at maximum efficiency. Find out which board you have and type the details into the search engines and you should be able to find what Ram your System can take (the price of Ram has reduced by so much it’s a worthwhile investment).
3rd if you have a vast vault of music or imagery that you want to store, change, access, play then have a separate super speedy drive to help you access your files quickly don’t be fooled by big disc volumes which have a rotation and read speed RPM of 5400 not acceptable, 7400 exceptable and 9600 Yeha!. These first three are things that will effect your every day appreciation of computing.
Fourthly If you have an aging computer that is good, but no longer copes, you don’t need to get shot of it you can use it as an auxiliary system that you access when you require the information held on that system and let it use applications in the background without effecting your new PC in anyway. The use of a KVM Switch is brilliant for this as it permits you to jump between computers using the same Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor to use both PC’s at the click of a swith.
Ensure you have the best Broadband connection you can afford. You don’t have to have the massive file usage of an Austin Hughes Rack Mount Server to require a download speed that wont look like its stuck when you download images, movies or songs. Check online to discover a provider in your area, then find out what the maximum download speed your telephone line can actually carry, rather than the one proposed by the provider (it just stops you handing out loads of money for download rates you will never reach) if you can link in unlimited download volumes to this all the better though most individuals get caught by the fair use policy if you use the internet a lot.
Hopefully this will have helped and I will add more at some other time.
